Michikazu Matsune, who was born in Japan, has been working as a performance artist in Vienna for over 20 years. With "Mitsouko & Mitsuko" he has managed to construct an incredible web of anecdotes around two Japanese women in the first half of the 20th century. This compelling and captivating research work cleverly straddles the boundaries between the eastern and western worlds, history and fiction, individual biographies and social identity construction.
